Clothes for the Life Around Coffee
People sometimes ask why a coffee brand would create a fashion collection. The honest answer is that Wolfox has never existed only inside a coffee cup. Coffee may be where our story began, but the world around it has always mattered just as much: the chair you sit on, the music in the room, the cup in your hand, the street outside and the clothes you are wearing when you arrive. These details shape how a place feels and, eventually, how we remember it. Wolfox Bottega Design grew from that idea. It is not merchandise added to a coffee business. It is an urban fashion line created for the life that happens around coffee, the early train, the walk across town, the meeting that becomes lunch, the bicycle ride home or the quiet Sunday when there is nowhere urgent to be. The collection began with the things we genuinely wear: a good white T-shirt, a comfortable hoodie, a cap thrown into a bag and denim that becomes better with use. They are simple pieces, but simplicity makes every decision more visible. The shape must feel right, the material must feel good and the garment must work without needing an elaborate explanation.
Why We Called It Bottega Design
In Italy, a bottega is more than a shop. It is a place where people make things, develop ideas and pass knowledge from one person to another. It suggests craft, patience and the presence of a human hand. I have always liked that meaning. Fashion often moves at a speed that gives us little time to understand what we are buying. A new trend appears, disappears and is replaced before we have decided whether we truly liked it. The word bottega brings us back to something slower and more deliberate: an object created because someone has considered its purpose, proportion and character. Design is equally important. We do not use the word simply to make the name sound more fashionable. Design is the process of deciding what should be present and, just as importantly, what should be left out. That thinking can be seen throughout the collection. Some pieces carry the full Wolfox script in deep burgundy, like our white organic T-shirt. Others reduce the identity to a small wlfx signature that is noticed rather than announced. The white cap is almost completely unadorned. The pale-blue hoodie carries a discreet Wolfox mark on the chest. Our washed brown cap and canvas tote have a softer, more familiar character, as though they already belong to someone. We wanted the clothing to be recognisable, but never to overwhelm the person wearing it.
An Urban Wardrobe With Room to Breathe
The collection has been designed around real days rather than imaginary occasions. A white Wolfox T-shirt can be worn with relaxed trousers on a London pavement or under a jacket for an evening out. The pale-blue hoodie works during a quiet morning at home, on a train or after a long day in the city. A washed canvas tote and softly worn brown cap feel equally natural in the café, at the market or packed for a weekend away. Our denim has a deliberately relaxed, lived-in character. Wide-leg jeans are finished with a tan Wolfox patch, while the dark, muted denim jacket and matching trousers have the appearance of clothes that become more personal the longer they are worn. There is something honest about denim. It does not remain untouched. It softens, fades and records the way we live in it. In a culture where products are often photographed as perfect and then quickly replaced, I like clothing that is allowed to show time. The colours also come naturally from the Wolfox world: coffee brown, warm cream, white, pale blue, black, washed indigo and muted olive. They are colours found in our cafés, in the materials we use and in the cities and landscapes that have influenced the brand. The result is urban clothing with room to breathe. It looks believable on a London street, beside a tennis court, near the lake or during a quiet morning at home. It does not require a special occasion, because the intention is for it to become part of ordinary life.
“And ordinary life, when we pay attention to it, is rarely ordinary at all.”
Organic Materials and European Making
Every Wolfox Bottega Design product is made using 100% organic materials and produced in Italy, the United Kingdom or Portugal. This was an important decision from the beginning. We wanted to create clothing in places with real histories of textiles, design and manufacturing, and in countries connected to Wolfox’s own identity. Britain and Italy have shaped the brand from its earliest days, while Portugal has become known for its knowledge and quality within contemporary European clothing production. Choosing organic materials is part of the same responsibility. Clothes remain against our skin for hours and become part of our daily lives. The materials used to create them should not be treated as an insignificant detail hidden behind a logo. We do not believe responsibility can be reduced to one fashionable word, nor that any brand should congratulate itself too easily. It begins with making better choices, being honest about how products are created and designing garments people will want to keep. The most sustainable piece of clothing is often the one that remains useful. A hoodie worn for years, denim that improves rather than deteriorates, or a tote that travels repeatedly between home, work and the market has more meaning than something bought for one photograph and then forgotten. Our aim is not to fill wardrobes. It is to create a place within them.
Movement Is the Next Chapter
Coming soon, Wolfox Bottega Design will introduce its first WLFX fitness line. The early images already express the direction: the warm surface of a red-clay tennis court, earthy brown against clean white, a ribbed vest, a simple cap and clothing that allows the body to move without losing its sense of style. We did not want to create another fitness collection based on neon colours, aggressive slogans or the idea that exercise must be a punishment. Our approach is quieter and more human. Movement is part of a good life, but it takes many forms. It may be tennis, running or cycling. It may be training for a marathon, walking across the city or taking the long route home. What matters is the decision to move, to leave the screen for a while and return to the physical world. This philosophy has always been part of Wolfox. We have supported cycling teams, sponsored football clothing for children, organised and sponsored the first Brighton Fitness Festival and promoted sporting activities in communities across Europe. The fitness line is therefore not a sudden change of direction. It is a continuation of something we already believe. The pieces are being created to belong as naturally to the rest of the day as they do to the activity itself. Clothes for the tennis court, but also for the coffee afterwards. Clothes for a morning run, the journey home and everything that may happen in between. We want fitness to feel accessible rather than intimidating. You do not need to be a professional athlete, own the newest equipment or transform movement into a public performance. Sometimes it is enough to go outside, use your body and give your mind a different kind of space.
Not Just Something to Wear
Wolfox Bottega Design exists because clothing, like coffee, can become part of a personal ritual. The cap picked up before leaving home. The familiar hoodie worn on a cold morning. The pair of jeans that slowly takes on its own shape. The tote carrying a laptop, a book and the unnecessary things we somehow always bring with us. These objects live beside us. When they are thoughtfully designed and well made, they become almost invisible—not because they lack character, but because they fit so naturally into our lives. That is what we want from Wolfox Bottega Design. Not clothing that asks to be admired from a distance, but clothing that invites you to live in it. The current urban collection is available from LOAFT Living Couture shops in London, Brighton and Como, Italy. The collection, together with our forthcoming fitness line, will also be available to purchase online soon. Wolfox began with coffee, but coffee was always part of a much larger story: how we live, what we value and the small choices through which we express ourselves.
“Wolfox Bottega Design is simply the next piece of that story.”
